It was reported today that Dame Maggie Smith is ill. She's only 73--lots of roles yet to play.
I hope she beats this, as I love her, love her, love her, love her.

It's been a year of bad news - just this week there are Minghella and Schofield's deaths, Arthur C Clarke, plus Smith ill - after Patrick Swayze's illness, plus the death of Gary Gygax, Kon Ichikawa, Heath Ledger, Vampira - a couple musicians I care about though I suppose the wide world is less concerned (Jim Jones from Pere Ubu, Larry Norman) - on and on...
Yeah, they all seem to croak in packs. I wonder when the next wave will hit.
